Lost over half a million zlotys on internet investments

The inhabitant of over half a million zlotys was lost by the inhabitant of Zielona Góra, who, wanting to multiply his savings, believed in false advertisements about lucrative investments on stock exchanges and cryptocurrencies – informed on Thursday.

“A man convinced of the correctness of his behavior, seeing profits in a virtual wallet, for several days he paid his money to fraudsters. And all because he was fooled by a false advertisement posted by criminals on the Internet,” added a policewoman.

After watching the advertisement, the man called the number indicated in it. Shortly afterwards, a woman spoke to him and recommended the program installation on the trading platform. Then a false adviser contacted him, who claimed his guardian and began to persuade the next investments in the purchase of gold, shares of various companies and cryptocurrencies.

The man without realizing that he fell into the trap of fraudsters, without thinking began to pay more and more amounts. At the same time, he saw on his virtual account, to which he accessed from fraudsters that his money is profitable.

Manipulation lasted several days. Finally, the man decided to call his son for advice. He immediately realized that his father fell victim to fraudsters and ordered to inform the police. Unfortunately, almost Half million was lost.

“On the canvas of this case, we once again warn against investing our money on the Internet without thinking and thoroughly checking a given offer. Let's not react to the promises of large and quick profits when investing in cryptocurrencies, gold, gas pipelines or company shares – this is how scammers work” – concluded Podsinsp. Stanisławska.
