Russians were advised not to click on financial links on payday

June 11 11:50

On payday, Russians are not recommended to follow links from letters on financial topics. Information security expert Alexey Mironov told Gazeta.Ru about this.

According to the expert, on such days, scammers are especially active, as they expect to quickly gain access to a person’s money. Mironov advises making a simple rule automatic: do not open links from letters on payday, even if the message supposedly came from the bank.

“This reduces the risk of instant loss of funds by 80%,” the expert noted.

He explained that in 2026, fraudsters are increasingly moving from mass data theft to quick withdrawal of funds. It is more profitable for attackers not just to steal a password, but to immediately attack a person on the day the money is received.

The expert advises checking financial information only through official bank applications or a manually entered website address, and not through links from letters.
