After seeing what was happening near the center of Bucharest, Ion Țiriac raged: “The biggest stupidity I have heard in recent years”

The businessman vehemently criticized the reconstruction of the Dinamo stadium on the site of the old arena in Ștefan cel Mare. The billionaire believes that the new stadium should have been built on the outskirts of the city on the model outside, writes Golazo.

“You're putting me in a very difficult situation. It's the biggest nonsense I've heard in recent years. We know very well that you can no longer build stadiums or sports halls in the middle of a city. There's no such thing as things happening. You do it somewhere where you have room for 1,000 parking spaces, if the hall has 2,000 seats. If it has 10,000 seats, you need 5,000 seats. of parking, and a football stadium, to be done correctly, even if you have a subway next to it, you need thousands and thousands of parking spaces”, declared Ion Țiriac recently.

He specified that “the Dinamo stadium, where it was, was very beautiful 50-100 years ago, but it no longer has its place there. Everyone needs to look around a little and see what is happening in this world. If you don't have the respective parking spaces, from the point of view of security, it is not right. The fact that money was found to build a football stadium called Dinamo makes me happy.”

At Săftica or near the highway

He believes that the new stadium should have been built elsewhere.

“Dinamo had land in Săftica, Dinamo can buy land on the Bucharest-Ploiesti highway, 3-5 km away. And it also has 5,000 parking spaces and everything it needs. And it's even cheaper. Do you realize how much it will cost just to block traffic to build the Dinamo stadium? I think it was the right decision, when it was made, 10 years ago it seems to me, to tear down the stadium that no longer fit, but to be done elsewhere. This is my opinion, I have seen these things done all over the world”, declared Ion Țiriac.

The Dinamo Stadium is in the process of being demolished, but the process is facing a number of obstacles. The new arena in Ștefan cel Mare will cost 172 million euros and will have 25,000 seats.
