PHOTO. What do the new trolleybuses from China look like that will circulate through Bucharest from Monday. They have an advantage over the already existing trams

The new Yutong U12 trolleybuses, with 100% autonomy, will run from Monday on lines 86, 93 and 97, the Capital City Hall announces.

The new trams carry 93 passengers at a time, and can run at least 20 km without mains power.

The city hall also announces changes in the public transport schedule starting on Monday.

  • Shuttle lines 685 (Baicului – Traian) and 686 (Cartier Pajura – Clăbucet) are suspended.
  • Line 86 will operate on a modified route, between “Cartier Pajura” and “Baicului”.
  • Line 85 will be extended from the “Aura Buzescu” station to the “Arena Națională”, practically operating between the “Arena Națională” and “Gara de Nord” terminals.

They can travel 20 km autonomously, without connecting to the electrical network

Line 86

Most of the new trolleybuses (13 in number) were introduced on line 86 because, being autonomous, they will be able to travel on sections of the road where they cannot be connected to the electricity network. There, works are taking place on the metro line 6 and on the modernization of the tram infrastructure.

The route of line 86 will look like this:

– on the direction towards “Baicului”: “Cartier Pajura”, Str. Dridu, Str. Pajurei, Bd. Bucureşti Noi, Calea Griviţei, Str. Carpati, Str. Mircesti, Str. Caransebeş, Calea Griviţei, Str. Gheorghe Polizu, Str. Occidentului, Str. General Gheorghe Manu, Bd. Lascăr Catargiu, Bd. Dacia, Str. Traian, Piaţa Foișorul de Foc, Str. Iancu Cavaler de Flondor, Bd. Pache Protopopescu, Road. Mihai Bravu, Bd. Ferdinand I, Bd. Garii Obor, “Baicului”;

– on the direction to “Pajura District”: “Baicului”, Bd. Garii Obor, Bd. Ferdinand I, Şos. Mihai Bravu, Bd. Pache Protopopescu, Str. Iancu Cavaler de Flondor, Foişorul de Foc Square, Str. Traian, Bd. Dacia, Bd. Lascăr Catargiu, Str. General Gheorghe Manu, Str. Occidentului, Str. Gheorghe Polizu, Calea Griviţei, Str. Clăbucet, Bd. Ion Mihalache, Str. Aviator Popişteanu, Str. Soveja, Calea Griviţei, Bd. Bucharesti Noi, Str. Pajurei, Str. Dridu, “Pajura District”.

Line 85

Also from Monday, line 85 will be extended from “Aura Buzescu” station to “Arena Națională”.

The connection between the “Arena Natională”, Strada Vatra Luminoasă and Piața Romană/ Calea Griviței can be made by transferring at the Iancului School, from the trolleybuses of lines 85 or 90 to those of line 97.
