the regime in Iran is barely alive

Richard Grenell, asked during the CPAC conference in Texas about misunderstandings in the conservative community in connection with the war in Iran, reassured: – I love that in the MAGA movement we have (different) opinions. We share them. We pride ourselves on being transparent and trying to work through these issues.

— Democrats demand everyone to comply. We don't do that. (…) What unites us is trust in President Trump, he argued. — I think everyone knows that President Trump has access to intelligence that we don't have access to. He's talking to our allies,” Grenell continued.

The Iranian regime is 'barely alive'

He also said that the Iranian regime was now “barely alive” and that the authorities in Tehran posed a real threat to the US. “So what I love about Trump is that he was willing to confront this and solve this problem,” he said.

— Is it unpleasant in the short term? Of course. But in the end, will it be a good thing? I think that in a few months we will look at it from perspective and say: thank God that we have solved this problem, that the Iranian regime is no longer a threat. Oil prices will calm down, he added, to which the audience responded with applause.

The US gains “greater access to oil”

Grenell noted that thanks to Trump's actions, the US is gaining “greater access to oil” in Venezuela and Iran. – We know this will happen because (Trump) is focused on the island of Kharkiv, he noted, referring to Iran's oil export hub.

– I think we will look back and say: fortunately, we do not have to spend a lot of money on dealing with the same problem of terrorism again, that we entered quickly, got rid of the threat and that we can benefit from the fact that the region is stable – argued Trump's representative.

Grenell was originally tipped as the leading candidate for US foreign minister. As Trump's special envoy, he participated in, among others: in the initial talks with the Nicolas Maduro regime in Venezuela, after which his role was marginalized.

Dispute in the MAGA movement over war with Iran

According to an AP-NORC poll, six in 10 Americans believe that the US military operation against Iran “went too far.” About half of Republicans said surgery was “just right,” 20 percent said assessed that the war had not gone far enough, and approximately 25 percent is of the opposite opinion.

The attack on Iran is heavily criticized by the anti-interventionist wing of the MAGA movement, including controversial columnist Tucker Carlson and former congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, but polls show they represent a small part of the movement associated with President Trump.
