President Nicușor Dan commented from Iasi on the conflict in the Coalition between PSD leader Sorin Grindeanu and Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, on the issue of special pensions for magistrates. The head of state claims that such conflicts are legitimate, but they are not likely to shake the governing coalition.

“At the moment we have a coalition that has 65% and a government that has a prime minister. I don't see why this situation has to change. There are conflicts, I think they are legitimate, some people could abstain, human nature is diverse. However, this coalition in terms of concrete results works. There were several motions of the position that were rejected.” said the president

Regarding the magistrates' pension project, the president says that it will have to go through Parliament again, with possible corrections.

“Awe see a problem: pension as much as salary and we have the will to solve the problem and the will to be solved in 2025. At the moment when the bill will go to the parliament, an agreement of the parties in the Coalition is needed. Further there are technical problems. It's good as a possible problem the text sent to CCR to be correctedthe debate is necessary and I estimate that it will be resolved in a maximum of three weeks. The two big discussions remain: the transition period and the amount of the pension in relation to the salary”, president Dan also specified.

The president believes that after November 7, after the PSD congress, we will have fewer attacks between the parties in the Coalition. “This kind of rhetoric doesn't hold up like it did 10-20 years ago. Everyone positions themselves in the public space as they see fit”.
