Terrorist attack thwarted in Paris, in front of the Bank of America. The perpetrator, immobilized just before triggering the explosion

An attack with an explosive charge was foiled on Saturday morning in Paris in front of the Bank of America branch following the intervention of the police, who arrested a man who was preparing to detonate the device, reports AFP, quoted by Agerpres.
The events took place on the night of Friday to Saturday, around 03:25 local time, (04:25 Romanian time) on Rue de la Boétie, in the west of the central part of Paris.
Police officers patrolling the area detained a man who had placed an improvised explosive device in front of the building.
The load consisted of a 5-liter can filled with liquid, probably a hydrocarbon, an ignition system, a firecracker of about 650 grams of explosive powder, according to the first elements of the investigation.
The cargo assembly was taken over by forensics and is currently being analyzed at the Paris police headquarters.
The National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor's Office (PNAT) filed a complaint after this attempted attack.
The investigation was opened specifically for “attempted degradation by fire or dangerous means in connection with a terrorist enterprise and terrorist association of criminals,” added PNAT.
In a message posted on X, French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez wanted to note “more than ever the high-level vigilance”, congratulating the police for their intervention and “mobilization in the current international context”.
After the outbreak of the war in the Middle East, the French interior minister multiplied his calls for extreme vigilance for law enforcement, especially to protect Iranian opponents, Jewish places of worship and American interests in France, all of which were identified as potential targets of terrorist acts.
