Rosatom enters Brazil. The Russian giant and NBEPAR join forces

The Uranium ONE group, owned by TENEX, a part of the state-owned Rosatom corporation, and the Brazilian NBEPAR group will cooperate. The companies will create a joint venture operating under the name Nadina Minerals.

The newly established company will explore and extract strategic minerals in Brazil. The company will conduct both exploration of deposits and their subsequent exploitation.

Rosatom and Nucleo Brasil Energia established the company as part of a long-term cooperation strategy in the raw materials sector.

Brazilian newspapers and websites described the event using vivid headlines. “Lula does business with Putin,” we read in one of the headlines, referring to Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. Another title reads: “Russia and Brazil agreed on joint mining of strategic minerals.”
The agreement was finalized during the recent Nuclear Summit held in Rio de Janeiro. It was during this event that the companies signed documents regarding cooperation in the extraction of strategic raw materials.
