State budget laws for 2026, promulgated

President Nicușor Dan promulgated the state budget law for the year 2026 and the state social insurance law on Friday.

On Thursday, the Constitutional Court rejected the notifications of the AUR in relation to the two projects, establishing that the normative acts are constitutional. On Friday, the CCR published the reasons for the decisions by which it determined that the state budget and social security budget laws for this year are constitutional.

The state budget passed Parliament with a large majority on March 20, after five days of debates and a deadlock in the governing coalition. The law passed the Parliament with 319 votes “for”, 104 against, 1 abstention and two MPs who chose the “present, not voting” option.

The law sets out the main financial allocations for the current year, including amounts for investment, health, education and infrastructure.
