The diplomat emphasized the need to verify vessels sailing through the strait. — There is no problem with ensuring security, but each ship must make prior arrangements with the Iranian government. The transition is possible only in agreement, the ambassador explained.

South Korean authorities react to the announcement

The South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced a detailed analysis of the ambassador's words. The ministry declared that it would maintain communication channels with Tehran to ensure transit safety, reports the Korea Times.

Kuzechi noted that the region is in a war situation from which the strategic trade route cannot be excluded. He warned that any entities linked to the economic interests of the United States or Israel could face severe restrictions under Iranian defense law. According to Tehran, it is unwise for U.S. companies to conduct normal business activities under current conditions.

26 Korean ships stuck
