Mirabela Grădinaru participated, on Tuesday and Wednesday, in Washington DC, at the “Preparing the future together” summit, organized at the White House at the initiative of the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump.
The life partner of the president Nicușor Dan appears in an image with Brigitte Macron, the wife of the French president, and Olena Zelenska, the wife of the Ukrainian leader, on the sidelines of the meeting dedicated to children's digital education.
The photo was released on Wednesday by the Presidential Administration.
Mirabela Grădinaru appears in the image wearing a black and white blouse, with a pattern of traditional Romanian inspiration.
Mirabela Grădinaru participates in the inaugural summit of a global coalition dedicated to children's digital education. The visit takes place at the invitation of the First Lady of the USA, Melania Trump.
With her are Vlad Ionescu, state councilor for foreign policy, and Diana Punga.
The summit promotes international cooperation to increase children's well-being through education, innovation and technology.
“The initiative aims at access to modern tools, including solutions based on artificial intelligence, to support students, teachers and parents, as well as to strengthen safety in the online environment”, the Presidential Administration mentioned.
President Nicușor Dan's partner spoke on Tuesday, after the first ladies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Burundi, Serbia, Ukraine and the first gentleman of Slovenia.
“An extremely valuable initiative”
She said Melania Trump's initiative is “extremely valuable, generating much-needed momentum, visibility and dynamism in this field.”
“At the same time, it is essential to adopt an integrated approach that better connects education, innovation and technology. I am looking forward to start collaborating closely with First Lady Melania Trump and all those present at this table, within the framework of this project, to develop concrete initiatives and achieve a tangible impact in promoting digital education, safe online practices and media education for children around the world”, said the first lady of Romania.
