The Dolj County Council will receive the “ghost” hotel from the “Ion Oblemenco” Stadium in Craiova for one year. Inaugurated in 2017, with the opening of the 30,000-seat arena in the south of the country, the hotel has not been put into use for almost 9 years. Now it will be able to host the County Center for Culture and Art (CJCA) Dolj.
At the “Ion Oblemenco” stadium there is a hotel with 38 rooms, which belongs to the public domain of the municipality and which covers an area of 1950.84 square meters: four levels, ground floor and three floors, in the Tribune 1 area.
Since the inauguration until now, the hotel has not hosted anyone. The space was not rented, not attracting interest from economic agents. Everything arranged turnkey, the protections still untouched on the furniture, but zero income.
Now, CJ Dolj is going to receive this space for free, for one year, according to cvlpress.ro.
CJ Dolj receives the hotel from the “Ion Oblemenco” stadium
According to information from the local media, the Dolj County Center for Culture and Art, a public institution that promotes traditional culture and organizes educational programs and artistic performances, will be temporarily moved to .
The decision, which will be subject to the approval of local councilors, is necessary for the release of the current headquarters, where the Popular School of Arts and Crafts “Cornetti” operates with 800 students and the administrative departments.
The freed space will be used for a European project of the Dolj County Council, aimed at establishing the “Museum of Scientists from Oltenia”. The temporary relocation of CJCA Dolj to the hotel at the stadium will thus ensure the continuity of the activities of this institution.
Since 2017, when the stadium was inaugurated, the hotel inside it has not been used either by athletes or for tourist purposes.
