Inter drew away with Fiorentinaa team struggling to escape relegation, score 1-1, in a match of stage #30 of Serie A.
Inter started the match perfectly with a goal in the 40th second, but then they dropped the level. Fiorentina took advantage and managed to get a point in the end through Ndour's goal in the 77th minute.
Inter started the match against Fiorentina strongly: Esposito's goal in the 40th second was not enough
Inter, with Cristi Chivu, suspended, in the Artemio Franchi stands, started the game perfectly: in the first attack phase, in the 40th second, the Romanian team opened the scoring: Nicolo Barella crossed perfectly, and Pio Esposito scored with a header, free in the box.
The brilliant start continued with a disallowed goal by Barella in the 7th minute, but then Cristi Chivu's team lost the initiative and were only dangerous on the counterattack.
Fiorentina was not very big problems in the first act, but tried to attack on the flanks. Moise Kean, the pinnacle of the viola group, was as uninspiring as possible in front of goal and was caught offside several times.
The first moment when Fiorentina showed their fangs was in the 21st minute. Gudmundsson, the young player of the Firenze formation, headed very well and the ball went past Sommer's goal from close range. The goalkeeper of Inter had remained without reaction.
Kean's misses followed: in the 28th minute the Fiorentina striker missed with an empty net after a ball thrown into the box, Sommer having a poor positioning. In the 39th minute, Kean managed to score, but from offside, and the goal was disallowed.
Fiorentina controlled the game and Ndour rescued a point for the relegated side
At half-time, Cristi Chivu switched to the defensive line, dissatisfied with the great opportunities of the formation in the fight for relegation. Acerbi came in for Carlos Augusto, and things calmed down from a defensive point of view.
In the second half, neither formation generated any danger until the 70th minute, but Fiorentina controlled the game. Ndour then shot from distance but Sommer cleared the ball.
Seven minutes later, after a mistake on the right flank of Inter's defense, the home team equalizedt. Ndour took advantage of Sommer's wrong rejection and ignited the end of the match. The hosts, sensing Inter were in a daze, forced an equaliser, but the forwards were ineffective and the two sides shared the points.
Artemio Franchi's draw sees Inter now 6 points behind AC Milan and 7 points behind 3rd-placed Napoli with just 8 games to go.
Next round AC Milan and Napoli will play each other, and Inter will play AS Roma. Fiorentina saved a point and are only two points away from relegation at the moment.
