According to one European security official, Szijjártó provided Lavrov with “spot reports on what was discussed” and possible solutions.
The source noted that because of these calls, “for many years, Moscow was actually at the negotiating table at every EU meeting.”
The publication recalls that since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Szijjarto has made 16 official visits to Moscow, the last of which took place on March 4, when he met with illegitimate Russian President Vladimir Putin.
