Rapid are NOW playing in Denmark against Viborg in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the EHF European League.

After an excellent run in group C where they ranked 1st with 8 points obtained from 3 wins and two draws, Rapid plays today the first leg of the double with Viborg to qualify for the Final Four in Graz.

In the last match of the championship. the formation prepared by the Frenchman Laurent Bezeau lost the derby in Bistrita, score 26-29, a match in which Estevana Polman scored 6 goals from 12 shots.

  • For the match with Rapid, Viborg is the favorite at the bookies with a rate of 1.45-1.55, while the Romanian team has a rate of 2.80-3.00.

Viborg qualified for the quarter-finals after taking second place in D, where they accumulated 8 points. The Danish team had qualified for the group, after passing the Swedish women from Savehof in the preliminary round, overall score, 70-61.

The captain of the Danish team is the 35-year-old left winger, Marie Fisker, winner of the Champions League with CSM Bucharest in 2016.

  • Between 2005-2012, the current team manager from Rapid, Cristina Vărzaru, played at Viborg, and in 2006, 2009 and 2010, the Danish team won the Champions League.

In the Danish championship, Viborg is in 5th place with 29 points, after 23 stages. Viborg lost the last match of the championship at home, 27-29 against HOJ Elite.
