The leader from Kiev stated that there are signals from Washington regarding the readiness to continue the talks in the current formats, with the aim of ending the war started by Russia against Ukraine.
“It's time to end the break and have substantial talks. And we are doing everything to make the negotiations really substantial. The Ukrainian team – more precisely, the political part of the negotiating group – is already on its way, and this Saturday we expect a meeting in the United States of America. Today we discussed negotiations in detail both with (Rustem) Umerov and with Kirill Budanov and David Arahamia. Also, Sergey will participate in the meetings Kisliţa. Our priority is to do everything to have a decent peace. And I thank all those who help us in this regard.” said Volodymyr Zelensky, quoted by Ukrainska Pravda.
The Ukrainian head of state also mentioned that the secretary of the National Security Council, Rustem Umerov, recently visited several countries in the Middle East, where possible security agreements were discussed.
On March 13, the Ukrainian president stated that Ukraine is ready for a new round of negotiations on ending the conflict, but the place and time of the meeting have not yet been determined, due to differences in positions between the United States and Russia.
At the same time, Zelenski insists on the need for a meeting with US President Donald Trump, stressing that it exists “some things that don't sit still”.
