Nicusor Dan excludes the scenario of early elections. What does it say about a change of prime minister

President Nicușor Dan stated, on Thursday night, that he does not consider calling early elections in case of deepening dissensions in the ruling coalition, as it would lead to a prolonged period of political instability.
Asked how he sees the scenario of early elections in the event of a break within the coalition, Nicușor Dan answered:
“I'm ruling it out. Theoretically, a lot can happen. Given the context we're going through, it's the last thing to think about – a long period of instability.”
At the same time, the president showed restraint regarding a possible change of prime minister, before the rotation scheduled for next year.
“We are in a better situation now than we were in the morning. We have to see the bright side of the glass,” said Nicușor Dan, referring to the disputes in the coalition related to the budget.
“The support of the prime minister is given by the parliamentary majority, I want this support to continue for a long time to come,” added the president.
He appreciated that the current coalition is a functional one, even if decisions are difficult to make.
“We would all like decisions to be made faster, for the public noise to be less, but beyond all these shortcomings, on normative decisions such as the budget law, the law on administration, we see that, in a longer time than we would like, a consensus is reached”, Nicușor Dan also said, in a press conference held in Brussels, after the European Council meeting.
