Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi condemned the United States' use of British military bases in a telephone conversation with British Foreign Minister Yvette Cooper. This will be treated as “participation in aggression,” the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Friday.

Aragchi reportedly assessed during the conversation that any aid provided to the United States by Great Britain would lead to an “escalation of the situation.” He also accused Britain and other European countries for a “biased approach” to the “blatant aggression” of the United States and Israel.
According to reports from the British BBC station, Aragchi also allegedly criticized the government in London for not condemning the Israeli attacks on Iran's South Pars gas fields.
The BBC asked the British Foreign Office for comment, but has not yet received a response.
At the beginning of March, the government in London, after sharp criticism from US President Donald Trump, agreed to Washington's request that British bases be used for defensive strikes against Iranian missile warehouses or launchers. As Prime Minister Keir Starmer emphasized at the time, British forces have not been and will not be involved in offensive attacks on Iran.
Israel and the US launched airstrikes on Iran on February 28. In response, Tehran launched retaliatory attacks on Israel and several Persian Gulf states, hitting both American bases and civilian facilities located there. (PAP)
