Inter's interest in Guglielmo Vicario was known for a long time. Now the first important steps have been taken towards making the transfer. A delegation of the Nerazzurri was in London these days, to talk with the goalkeeper of Tottenham, and the press in Italy writes that an agreement has been reached.

Guglielmo Vicario earns €2.9 million net per year at Tottenham

Vicario has said yes to Inter and it will now be up to sporting director Piero Ausilio to discuss the terms of the deal with Spurs. According to the daily newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, the goalkeeper has a contract until 2028 with the English and a salary calculated at 2.9 million euros net per year!

The player is a long-time favorite of Ausilio, who missed out on him three years ago in a blockbuster deal between Tottenham and Udinese. Now, however, the situation has changed significantly.

Guglielmo Vicario will be the starter, Yann Sommer, reserve

Vicario feels the need for a change of scenery given his side's extremely difficult time in the fight to avoid relegation, as well as fan complaints about mistakes made in some matches.

At Inter, he is to replace the “veteran” Yann Sommer between the sticks. “At least one of Yann Sommer and Josep Martinez will leave at the end of the current season. Chivu is thinking that Vicario will be the starter and Sommer, the first reserve,” writes Gazzetta.

Cristi Chivu's list also includes Maximo Perrone, Leo Skiri Østigård and the Stankovic brothers

Operation “Vicario” is part of Inter's plan to prime the squad, especially with players who know the Italian league well. Chivu is also considering Argentinian midfielder Maximo Perrone, 23, from Como, and Norwegian international Leo Skiri Østigård (26), currently at Genoa.

As for Perrone, the situation is more complicated. He arrived at Como in the summer of 2024 on loan from Manchester City, and was then bought at the end of last season for €13 million. Problem? Naples is also interested in him, and the “citizens” must receive 30% of the resale amount, which could raise his price considerably.

In the case of Østigård the situation is clear. The club patronized by Dan Șucu told the Nerazzurri that they want 12 million euros in exchange for the former central defender of Napoli. Another target for Chivu this summer is to bring back Stankovic brothers Aleksandar (FC Bruges) and Filip (Venice) on 'Giuseppe Meazza'.
