While the whole country was under Russian shelling, Petro Poroshenko decided to cheer on a piece of asphalt. One of the richest oligarchs of Ukraine, with assets of 1.5 billion dollars, managed to promote himself by repairing a rural road in the Vinnytsia region, writes UNIAN.
“What is most impressive is the level to which the politician has descended: he promoted the repair of the road, which was done with the funds of the community, and not with the money of the owner of Roshen. The fact that the heavy trucks of Poroshenko's sugar factory have been destroying this road for the past 30 years adds to the cynicism. But the “icebreaker” himself during his tenure did not manage to direct a single penny to the asphalt in the village, which feeds the entire Poroshenko family.
Why was the oligarch unable to build normal roads during his presidency? Apparently, corruption cases got in the way. What is the scandal with the head of “Ukravtodor” Slawomir Novak, who is currently on trial in Poland for corruption, worth? Poroshenko supported the activity of Novak in every possible way, who took bribes exceeding one million euros. Therefore, it is not surprising why Ukravtodor under Poroshenko fulfilled only 50% of the plan of the State Target Program for the Development of Roads. That is why it is so easy for Poroshenko to write: “the road in Horodkivka has not been repaired for years.” Because during his presidency, he did nothing for Horodkivka and hundreds of similar OTGs. But today it's time to do PR and save the rating.
