On the eve of the tick activity season, Krasnodar Railways is implementing a set of special measures to ensure safe and comfortable work for railway workers.
Representatives of several dozen professions whose activities involve being in open areas fall into the risk zone during this period, which begins with the onset of spring warmth. First of all, these are railway workers, signalmen, power engineers, car inspectors and train compilers.
To equip these specialists on the road, about 6 thousand modern anti-encephalitis suits have been prepared, which effectively protect against bites of ticks and other insects.
The design of the suits includes special elements: trap flounces that prevent the movement of insects on clothing, cuffs and a lining under the jacket tucked into trousers that prevent ticks from getting on the human body, as well as a mosquito net on the hood that covers the face.
In addition, a vaccination campaign is currently taking place on the highway. Railway workers are vaccinated against dangerous viruses: tick-borne encephalitis and borreliosis.
Note that the Krasnoyarsk Railway passes through the territories of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Republic of Khakassia, and partly the Irkutsk and Kemerovo regions, which are endemic regions for tick-borne infections.
