On Thursday, Iran attacked two refineries belonging to the Kuwaiti National Petroleum Company (KNPC), as well as an oil processing plant in Yanbu in Saudi Arabia, the AFP news agency reported, citing reports from the information services of the governments of both countries.

“One of the operational departments in a refinery owned by KNPC Mina Abdullah was attacked by drones. A fire broke out,” the Kuwaiti government reported on X.
The company's second refinery, Mina Al-Ahmadiwas also previously attacked by a drone. No one was injured, the emigration opposition website Iran International reported. The state news agency KUNA reported that both fires had been extinguished.
Iran also fired on Thursday at the SAMERF refinery in the port of Yanbu on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast. The Ministry of Defense in Riyadh announced that the damage was being assessed, but did not provide details, Reuters reported. Earlier, the ministry reported that a ballistic missile targeting the port had been intercepted.
The attacked refinery belongs to Saudi oil giant Saudi Aramco and Mobil Yanbu Refining Company Inc., a subsidiary of ExxonMobil. The plant is located approximately 200 km west of Medina.

Thursday is the 20th day of the war in the Middle East. The conflict began on February 28 with Israeli and US airstrikes on Iran, which responded with attacks on Israel and Middle Eastern countries, hitting both American bases located there and civilian facilities, especially airports and petrochemical infrastructure. Iran's overnight attacks caused fuel prices to skyrocket. (PAP)
