The interchange on the Northern Highway in the Solontsy area received permission for reconstruction

March 18 17:00

The Department of Urban Development has issued permission for the reconstruction of the interchange on the Northern Highway and Kotelnikov Avenue. This is the first document of this kind for “greater Krasnoyarsk”.

According to the project, transitional express lanes will be installed on the highway, and nearby loop left-turn exits will be spaced out. An underground pedestrian crossing will also appear, which should connect Novaland, Solontsy and the Metro shopping center. Lighting, drainage, barriers and sidewalks will be installed throughout the site.

The work is scheduled until 2029. Earlier it was reported that funding from the regional and federal budgets for the reconstruction of the overpass through Kotelnikov could amount to 1.8 billion rubles.

The road junction near Solontsy is actually the only exit for local residents. During rush hours, traffic jams for many kilometers accumulate here. The traffic intensity already exceeds 37 thousand cars per day, and by 2033, according to KruDor’s forecasts, it will reach 60 thousand. The two-level interchange, built in 1984, cannot cope with such a flow.

In parallel, the authorities are working on an alternative exit from Solontsy. The basis was the option of building a road from Sodruzhestva Street with access to the highway to the Solnechny microdistrict.
