How salt changes taste and removes bitterness

Add just a few salt crystals to hot tea. Don't worry, the drink won't become salty. A microdose of salt blocks the perception of tannins, which are responsible for astringency and dryness in the mouth. As a result, you will experience a richer and softer taste without harsh bitterness.

Step by step adding technique

The main thing is not to overdo it, as too much salt will ruin the drink.

  • Start with medium strength black tea.
  • Take salt on the tip of a knife (literally 2-3 crystals).
  • Stir and taste. If necessary, adjust the dose slightly.

Experiment with different varieties. This method is especially useful if you have given up sugar: salt will highlight natural shades and will not add calories.

For which varieties does the method work best?
