The Prime Minister emphasized that the government intends to act in this field in a practical, not ideological way, and the priority will be to provide Poles with energy that is accessible, as cheap as possible and safe from the point of view of geopolitics.
The importance of energy sovereignty
Prime Minister Tusk also referred to the arguments of opponents of renewable energy, pointing out that that renewable energy sources are the most sovereign solution for Poland. He pointed out that the country does not have its own oil deposits, and dependence on imports of raw materials, especially from Russia or Arab countries, carries serious risks. In his opinion, events in the Middle East show how dangerous it can be to rely on external energy supplies.

The Prime Minister's statements are part of a broader debate on the energy transformation in Poland and the role that renewable energy sources are to play in ensuring the country's energy security.
Dispute over the ETS system and the “RES-sroze” slogan
On Monday, Vice-President of Law and Justice Przemysław Czarnek announced the submission of a draft resolution to the Sejm, which calls on Prime Minister Tusk to present a plan for Poland's exit from the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) within 14 days. According to Czarnek, such a step could significantly reduce energy bills.
The slogan “OZE-sroze”, which appeared in the public debate, was used for the first time by Przemysław Czarnek during the March convention of Law and Justice, when the party announced him as a candidate for prime minister in the next parliamentary elections. Czarnek argued then that leaving the ETS would allow energy costs to be reduced by up to several dozen percent.
