Residents of cities in the Krasnoyarsk Territory will present projects for the improvement of public spaces at a federal competition

Municipalities of the Krasnoyarsk Territory are preparing to participate in the XI All-Russian competition for the best projects to create a comfortable urban environment. It is part of the national Infrastructure for Life project and remains a key tool for transforming small towns.

Winning the competition opens up great opportunities for creating public spaces that change the appearance of territories and the quality of people’s lives.

Residents of Borodino, Nazarovo, Sharypovo and Minusinsk are traditionally supported by the city-forming enterprises SUEK-Krasnoyarsk, SGK and the Melnichenko Foundation, which attract the best designers and architects of the country and help prepare competitive applications worthy of winning. This process has already begun in every city, and the residents themselves are actively participating in it. It is the citizens who determine which public spaces require improvement and will be submitted to the competition.

In Nazarovo, they decided on the choice of territory earlier than others: more than 60% of voters preferred the central city square and the adjacent Rainbow of Childhood park. The city has already held project seminars, in which a variety of categories of residents participated – from high school students to representatives of the veteran community. They shared their ideas about what the updated space should become with the architects and experts of the project team.

All wishes will form the basis of the improvement concept: it is expected to create a unified architectural solution for the entire territory, arrange safe play areas for children, comfortable recreation areas for the elderly, areas for city celebrations, as well as think over landscaping, lighting and parking pockets.

“The activity of the residents showed how interested everyone is in changes, how caring our townspeople are,” said Viktor Gubanov, manager of the Nazarovsky open-pit mine branch of JSC SUEK-Krasnoyarsk. — Nazarovo deserves a beautiful, modern and truly comfortable urban environment. The central square is the calling card of the city. The new space should be convenient for both children and adults, especially since mass, city-wide events are held here. And we will make every effort to ensure that our project becomes the winner of the All-Russian competition.”

Minusinsk has also decided on a new public space, the project of which will be presented at the All-Russian competition: more than 65% of residents voted for the improvement of the embankment in the area of \u200b\u200bthe street. Hippodrome.

Sharypovo residents offer to improve the territory in the central part of the city on the street. Energetikov to the Northern Ring, more than 60% of the townspeople voted for it. In Borodino, a project for the improvement of Oktyabrskaya Street is being prepared for a competition; about 85% of Borodino residents supported this area. If they win, the pedestrian sidewalk will be repaired, new trees will be planted, street furniture, small architectural forms, art objects will be installed, and an exhibition pavilion will be built.

It is important to note that all cities already have a solid history of participation and victories in the All-Russian competition. Since 2021, with the support of SUEK-Krasnoyarsk, SGK and the Melnichenko Foundation, 12 projects in small towns of the Krasnoyarsk Territory have become winners. The total amount of funds raised for improvement was about 1 billion rubles. In Borodino, the central Lenin Street and the park of the Ugolshchik Palace of Culture have been completely transformed.
