The Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas has led the police force in the Gaza Strip since 2007, ensuring public security while suppressing all manifestations of public dissent. Israeli attacks despite the truce with Hamas

Sunday's Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip took place during the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, the first phase of which entered into force on October 10, 2025. It was intended to end the war that had been going on for over two years.

Hamas has repeatedly accused Israel of violating the ceasefire. According to the AP, Israeli forces are shelling the Gaza Strip almost daily. During the same period, four Israeli soldiers were also killed.
