“What a joke! Biggest mistake in the championship”

Rapid – Dinamo 3-2. Andrei Nicolescu, the president of the “dogs”, “thundered” at the end of the failure in Giulesti. It was connected to the phase of the 2nd goal scored by Petrila, which came later a foul by Borza to Musi.

“Central” Istvan Kovacs let the game continue, although he initially wanted to whistle, and Andrei Nicolescu explained that this is a flawed result, and Dinamo was clearly at a disadvantage in Giulesti.

He claims it is the “biggest mistake of the entire championship” and chose to come before the players in the mixed area so that they would not make certain controversial statements.

“Let's not take the statements to ridiculous areas, to areas where we can prove that we have the mentality of 20 years ago. Unfortunately, tonight my respect for refereeing has ended and it's a shame, because a few days before I had a very good meeting with Mr. Vassaras and I really had some hopes that things would go in a good direction. It's a joke!

Tonight, the decision that was made on the second goal is a vitiation of the result. Unfortunately, it is incomprehensible that referees of such stature can make mistakes in such a manner, because I don't want to think about anything else, but unfortunately, we cannot play a play-off like this, in this way, refereed in this manner. It's no longer a competition.

So I don't want to accuse anyone of bias, I don't even want to think, because I'm horrified at the thought that in 2026 the championship in Romania would be conditioned by refereeing manners and wishes.

But what happened tonight is a clear vitiation of the result, a psychological moment. Even in the 4th League there is no such mistake. A big, big disappointment for the referees' performance tonight.

I would like more responsibility from all of us who are in football. I saw in Mr. Vassaras the desire for responsibility. I wish we didn't see such obvious mistakes.

We can understand that Mr. Kovacs saw something, wanted to whistle, was not convinced, but in the VAR room there was no doubt. I wouldn't want to make fun of the statements.

Dinamo wants respect, shows respect. I hope I haven't crossed any threshold with my statements. The frustration is unbelievable in the dressing room at the moment and the alarm needs to be raised. I hope that the other nine stages will take place in some sporting conditions, not be conditioned by some decisions of the referees.

Tonight's mistake is the biggest mistake of this entire championship. You can't, because it's a ten-stage mini-championship. We cannot have such mistakes“, said Andrei Nicolescu, at the mixed area.

I think that the respect I showed, the way each time I understood certain things, I chose to say that, out of respect for the referee, I don't comment. Tonight is irresponsibility on the competition we want. After which all of us, LPF, FRF, me, other clubs, wonder why people don't come to the stadium, why there is no trust in football in Romania and, finally, we wonder why football in Romania doesn't grow.

I've never come here to the mixed area before. I came to protect the players. It's unreal what happened. I think that Dinamo, with all the Valais players, looks even better. I looked good. My opinion is that if a correct decision was made at that time, the match was headed for a different result.

I played a good match. That's it, we're moving forward. I couldn't afford to let the players come here and then end up with who knows what.
