PAOK decided the fate of the game from the first minutes of the second act. Alexander Jeremejeff made it 2-0 in the 47th minute and Dimitrios Chatsidis set the final score in the 57th minute.
Following this result, PAOK returned to first place in Greece with one stage before the end of the regular season. PAOK, Olympiacos, AEK and Panathinaikos are the teams qualified for the play-offs.
PAOK is also qualified for the Cup final, where they will meet OFI Crete. In the last stage of the regular season, PAOK will travel to the field of Volos, on March 22.
At the end, Răzvan Lucescu sent his condolences to the family of the PAOK supporter stabbed on the street the other day by an Aris supporter.
He congratulated his players for the game and awaits the return of the footballers unavailable in the play-offs, to attack the title:
“First of all, I want to send my condolences to the family of Kleomenis (PAOK supporter), it's a new tragedy for the PAOK family. A young man who was killed and we have to remember him.
From the beginning we knew it was going to be an intense week. We had Taison and Konstantelias from the beginning. We knew they wouldn't be fully prepared right from the start.
The second was absent for a long time. The others are missing, I hope to have them with us a week before the play-off matches. It was a different game against a very well organized team that could have caused us problems.
We scored early in the 7th minute by recovering a ball, but then we lost positions for no reason. Sometimes we made the situation more difficult for ourselves.
In the second half, I must say it was a different situation. Aggressively, we scored the two goals. A result that was very important. We need to know how to win these matches”, said Răzvan Lucescu, according to metrosport.gr.
I hope everyone who is missing will be ready by the week before the play-offs. We are talking about Jonjoe Kenny, Giakoumakis, Andrija, but also about Meïté, who is facing a small problem. It is very important to have everyone after the competitive break.
We have seven league games and a cup final ahead of us. We have to be aggressive in all the matches. All this creates a strong motivation for our players to remain competitive in both competitions.
