The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said that, during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, it launched new attacks on American military bases in Bahrain and the Kurdistan region.

According to a statement issued by the Iranian Tasnim agency and picked up by the international press, the Revolutionary Guards launched a large number of missiles at some American military targets in the region.

The US Navy's Fifth Fleet base in Bahrain, as well as three other military installations in Iraqi Kurdistan, are among the targets mentioned.

The naval base in Bahrain is home to the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet, one of the main structures of the US Navy deployed in the Persian Gulf area, which has a strategic role in the security of sea routes and US military operations in the Middle East.

The Iraqi Kurdistan region is home to several bases used by the US military and international coalition forces, and these have in the past been the target of attacks claimed by groups close to Tehran.

According to the press release quoted by the Iranian press, the attacks would be part of Tehran's response to the increasingly high military tensions in the region. For now, information on the extent of the hits and possible damage has not been independently confirmed.

In the same context, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, the speaker of the Iranian parliament, sent a firm message on the social network X, in which he suggested that Iran does not intend to stop the military confrontation at this time.

“We are certainly not looking for a truce; we believe that we need to hit the aggressor in the face so that he learns a lesson and never thinks about attacking our dear Iran again.” said Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, in a post published on his X platform account on Tuesday.

The statements by Iranian officials come amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, where direct confrontations between Iran and the United States, as well as between their allies in the region, have intensified in recent months.
