Banking analysts have found how many families in Siberia lead a joint budget and how it affects the relationship

According to the results of the VTB survey, more than 40 % of Russians conduct a joint budget, and a quarter of families prefers the budget separately.

Moreover, in each second case, the differences in the approaches to the management of the family budget do not affect relations. The respondents also noted that they use life hacks and various offers from banks to favorably distribute expenses within the family.

Only a third of the Sibiryakov families (34 %) is conducting a joint budget, 26 % admitted that they have no one to share joint expenses with, 15 % of families choosing budget expenses at their discretion.

44 % of families in Siberia discuss and make decisions on the purchase together. Over a quarter (27 %) noted that they distribute the areas of responsibility and each spends money within their tasks.

Differences in the approaches to conducting family expenses do not spoil relations: 44 % of respondents in Siberia noted that money does not cause quarrels in the family. However, if disagreements arise, then most often due to expenses on unnecessary things (36 %), independent solutions about purchases without preliminary discussion (15 %) and excess subscriptions for services (10 %).

When asked who managed finances, more than half of the Siberians (56 %) responded in the affirmative of their persons (56 %), a quarter (24 %) celebrated their partner and expressed concern about this, financial applications noted 13 % of respondents, and 7 % called a bank consultant.

The main article of expenses for Siberians is food (66 %), half of the respondents admitted that significant amounts go to small purchases, which eventually develop in large expenses. Each fifth Siberian (20 %) goes to entertainment and online shopping (20 %).

The Russians shared their life hacks to preserve the family budget. 32 % of respondents noted that they put off part of the salary to deposits and cumulative accounts. Another advice is to use loyalty banking programs and receive cashback: 16 % compare offers with spouses, look for the most favorable conditions and pay for purchases with a suitable card. 12 % of respondents divide the budget into categories, and 10 % of respondents use cash to control expenses or are looking for alternative financial management methods.

“The family budget is not just the numbers in the table or the application, but the possibility for creative. The survey shows that Russian families are no longer arguing about money, and together they are looking for original ways of saving: they come up with life hacks, consciously approach the choice of cashback categories and compare offers before shopping. This approach shows that Russians do not just want to spend today-they want to spend wisely, and healthy savings are becoming a new form of family care, ”said Rostislav Yanykin, head of the Department of Transactional Retail Business, VTB Senior Vice President.

*The survey was conducted on a representative sample among 1,500 Russians aged 18 to 65 in cities with a population of more than 100 thousand people.
