On Tuesday morning, the police made 9 home searches in Bucharest and Prahova in the case of violence between two groups of supporters at the match between FC Rapid Bucharest and FC Petrolul Ploiești, from February 6, the Capital Police announced.
The conflict at the Giulești stadium had started in the first part of the match in the Superliga Rapid – Petrolul, on the lawn of Prahoven. The gendarmes present at the match then had to use irritant-tear-forming substances.

“From the data and evidence administered so far, it emerged that, in the sector intended for away supporters, a violent conflict would have broken out between two groups of supporters, a situation that generated a state of fear among people in the vicinity and affected public order and peace”, the Capital Police reported on Tuesday, in a statement.
The action on Tuesday morning is being carried out as part of a criminal case in which investigations are being carried out for hitting or other violence, disturbing public order and peace and destruction towards some members of the gallery of the football team FC Petrolul Ploiești, judicial sources told HotNews.
As a result of the activities carried out today, 9 suspicious persons were detected, and they will be taken to hearings.
One of the suspects is Dinu Bogdan-Mihai, known as “The Sponsor”, gallery leader at Petrolul Ploiești, according to the same sources.
Fines given by the gendarmes
At the same time, the Gendarmerie of the Capital carried out investigations to identify and sanction the persons involved in the conflict.
Thus, 18 contraventional sanctions were given, totaling 70,630 lei.
“Out of the total sanctions applied, three contravention sanctions, in the total amount of 48,000 lei, were ordered against the organizer of the sports event, for non-compliance with the obligations provided by the applicable legal framework. At the same time, two contravention sanctions, in the amount of 20,000 lei, were applied to the specialized security and protection company, for failure to fulfill its obligations in ensuring order and safety measures”, he specified The Capital Police.
In the same context, 4 complementary sanctions were ordered regarding the prohibition of access to sports competitions, for periods between 6 months and one year.
At the same time, following the continuation of the checks, on March 9, the gendarmes identified another 26 people, of which 24 were supporters of one of the teams and 2 were supporters of the opposing team.
In this case, the gendarmes applied 17 contraventional sanctions, totaling 22,150 lei, as well as 16 complementary sanctions of banning access to sports competitions, for a period of 1 year.
