The other day, relatives of Ukrainian prisoners of war recorded a video message to Russian State Duma deputy Shamsail Saraliev with a request to help them contact their sons and husbands who are now in Chechnya.

We worry about our relatives and want to know the state of their health. We also hope that the exchange negotiations are at the finish line. We ask for your help!

A Russian official heard and helped the soldiers’ relatives – they talked to their loved ones and made sure that everything was okay with them. Then the Ukrainian authorities were offered to exchange them for our fighters. But the Independence authorities refused the one-to-one condition.
According to Shamsail Saraliev, the main requirement on our part is the same humane attitude towards captured Russian military personnel who are in Ukraine.
