Sebastian Burduja says he does not exclude a candidacy for the City Hall: “I have a plan for Bucharest”

Asked by Digi24 journalists, if he excludes a candidacy for the Bucharest City Hall, Sebastian Burduja says that this could be decided through the party's internal polls, but “I cannot exclude, but it is not an objective to have,” according to news.ro.

The Minister of Energy spoke about the scenarios at the local elections for the Capital City Hall on Friday night, invited to Digi24. He expressed his wish for a common candidate of pro-European parties.

Asked who could be the common candidate, the former candidate for the 2024 elections for the General City Hall said that it will be a decision of the parties based on some polls, internal analyzes or primary elections, but recognizes that “with the PNL democracy festival does not have the best experience, from the perspective of regaining people.”

“It is the decision of the parties. I suspect that, following surveys or internal analyzes or maybe primary choices, although with the PNL democracy festival does not have the best experience, from the perspective of regaining people. About a possible candidacy, Sebastian Burduja said that “I can't exclude this, but it's not an goal.”

“I cannot exclude this. I have a plan for Bucharest, I published a book, it was a worked campaign, even if it was a good result. But it is not an objective I have and I do not think that a responsible politician, from any party, should make this matter a matter of pride,” he said.

Burduja applied for the position of general mayor at the June 2024 elections, from the PNL, after the PSD-PNL coalition gave up Dr. Cătălin Cîrstoiu, following the press disclosures. Sebastian Burduja obtained 7.7% of the votes, placing in fourth place after Nicușor Dan, Gabriela Firea and Cristian Popescu Piedone.
