The German giant will benefit from the Poles' technology. This is supposed to be a breakthrough

Deutsche Telekom, the owner of T-Mobile, and the unicorn ElevenLabs founded by Poles announce that soon every telephone call may become an intelligent service. Without any application, it will be possible to translate foreign languages live, summarize the discussion or “take care of matters” directly during the call, such as booking a table in a restaurant.

In Barcelona, during MWC 2026, Deutsche Telekom presented Magenta AI Call Assistant, a service that will incorporate artificial intelligence directly into voice conversations. After activation with the “Hey Magenta” command, the assistant can translate the conversation in real time, take notes and answer questions. This means that upon voice command, it will book a table, a doctor's appointment, fill out the form and finally send a confirmation. You don't need any applications or special devices – everything should happen “online”, on every phone.
In this way, the company wants to join the AI race and enter the area previously “reserved” for the world's largest technology companies.
ElevenLabs with a strategic partner
The technological partner of the project is ElevenLabs — a startup with Polish roots founded by Mateusz Staszewski and Piotr Dąbkowski, which today operates mainly in the USA and provides voice and agent models that can also operate during live calls. “We need to find the best partners who understand voice and can deeply integrate models into our network, in a trusted environment. In the area of voice models, ElevenLabs is such a partner for us,” said Abdu Mudesir, Member of the Management Board of Deutsche Telekom for Product and Technology, from the stage. He emphasized that this is “the first such solution in the world” and its strength comes from placing AI directly in the core of the network.
Mati Staniszewski from ElevenLabs — connecting first… with public transportand then joining on stage – he said that the company combines research and product so that interaction with technology is natural, like a conversation. — We started with voice models that sound human, emotional and reliable. Today, we are breaking down barriers by making this intelligence available to users without applications, directly on the web – he said.
Although Mudesir and Staniszewski's joint speech was associated with technical problems, T-Mobile assures that the service will be fully safe. Without conscious activation of the assistant, the call content is not analyzed or saved, and all call participants are informed that AI is turned on. In Germany, the service will be implemented later this year and will support up to 50 languages within 12 months. Telekom does not yet provide a schedule for additional countries.
Fighting fakes
– We are optimistic about AI – but not naive – said Mudesir. In practice, this also means fighting fakes. The stage showed how easy it is to clone a voice and what role the network itself can play in verifying whether the caller is who he claims to be. Telekom is working on mechanisms for identifying not only people, but also AI agents to protect sensitive business processes against impersonation or deepfake attacks.
Deep fakes and AI pose an increasing threat, especially to young Internet users

Deloitte Central Europe has recently become a strategic partner of the company, which is to support the implementation of its services in enterprises.
After the last round of financing, ElevenLabs reached a valuation of USD 11 billion. American.
