Eleven countries sent requests to Kiev for support in protecting against Iranian drone attacks; these are Iran's neighbors, European countries and the USA, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday.

“Currently, we have 11 applications from Iran's neighbors, European countries and America. There is clear interest in Ukrainian experience in life protection, appropriate interception systems, electronic warfare systems and training,” Telegram reported.
“Ukraine is ready to respond positively to the requests of those who help us protect the lives of Ukrainians and the independence of Ukraine. We have already responded to some of the requests with specific decisions and specific support,” he added.
Zelensky, after conferring with the political and military leadership of the state, assessed that the events in the Middle East affect Ukraine and Europe, “on critically important supplies to Ukraine and on the security and well-being of our people.”
The president emphasized that Ukraine is ready to help other countries defend themselves, provided that this does not limit its own defense capabilities against Russia.
“Ukraine's priorities are clear: the Iranian regime should not gain any advantage over defenders of life, and everyone should work together for tangible stability both in the region and on global markets,” he said.
He also noted that Russia and Iran support each other, which requires a joint response.
“Each of these regimes has itself opposed the world and an answer is needed. Every point of production of the Shaheds (Iranian-made drones used in Ukraine by Russia – PAP) is known. The Iranian and Russian regimes support each other, and more and more information is emerging, including about Russian components in the Shaheds that attack Iran's neighbors,” he emphasized.
In an interview with the New York Times on Monday, Zelensky said Ukraine had sent interceptor drones and a team of drone specialists to protect US military bases in Jordan from Iranian attacks. According to the president, the US asked Ukraine for help on Thursday, and the Ukrainian team left the next day.
The White House did not answer the question whether the United States had asked Ukraine for help, the daily emphasized, noting that although the US-Israeli operation against Iran, which has been ongoing since February 28, threatens to distract the world's attention from Russia's war against Ukraine, it also gave Kiev the opportunity to use its hard-won experience and advanced technology on a new front.
Kyiv hopes to win Washington's favor in trilateral peace talks with Moscow. On Thursday, US President Donald Trump again stated that he sees Zelensky as a greater obstacle to peace than Russian leader Vladimir Putin. (PAP)
