Athletic Bilbao played heroically with Barcelona, but Lamine Yamal turned the Basques' plans upside down

Barcelona prevailed against Athletic Bilbao, score 1-0, in a match of stage #27 of La Liga.
After the Catalans were held in check by the Basques' disciplined defence, Lamine Yamal came up with a superb goal in the 68th minute.

Athletic Bilbao had an excellent start to the game at San Mames, and could take the lead from the very first minute. At the very first Basque cross Joao Cancelo deflected the ball into the crossbar of Joan Garcia's goal.
Barcelona grabbed possession but it was a barren first half. The Catalans did not manage to register even a shot on goal, and the Bilbao defense blocked all the lanes. The Basques were more dangerous and registered a shot on goal in the first act. In the 42nd minute they even had a goal disallowed. Inaki Williams scored, but the goal was disallowed for offside.
The Basques continued to be dangerous, and in the 57th minute they missed a double chance at Joan Garcia's goal. Instead, the occasions took their revenge. Pedri found Lamine Yamal with a superb pass who made the ball on the left and scored directly at the goal post. Until the end, Bilbao chased the equalizer, but Barcelona preserved the result with a passing game.
Barcelona is the leader, 4 points away from the chaser Real Madrid. Athletic Bilbao is in 9th place with 35 points accumulated in 27 stages, and the Basques will leave in the race to catch a place in European cups.
