The inhabitants of the northern Tulcea County received, on Monday night, a new RO-Alert type message sent by the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU). The warning came against the background of intensifying tensions in Ukraine, and the population was informed that there is a risk that objects from the airspace will fall on the territory of Romania.

The message urged people to remain vigilant and to adopt protective measures throughout the air alert, which has spread over 90 minutes.

ISU Delta representatives said that although the situation has caused concern among communities, no major incidents or calls were reported to the unique emergency service.

“Following the air alert, there were no calls to the unique emergency number 112”, The spokesman of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations Delta, Daniel Năstase, quoted by Agerpres, said for AGERPRES.
