Victor Ponta's daughter arrived in Romania. Daciana Sârbu: “I held my child in my arms” / Complaint to the DNA against Oana Țoiu

The daughter of former prime minister Victor Ponta arrived in Romania on Friday. The information was confirmed by a post on Facebook by Daciana Sârbu, who said that she “held her child in her arms”, after the family publicly accused the authorities a day ago of blocking the repatriation of the teenager.
“I thank you from the bottom of my heart to all those who offered me help. Thanks to you today I held my child in my arms. Thank you for your messages of encouragement and for your good thoughts, which made me feel less alone”, wrote Daciana Sârbu.
According to the Gândul publication, Victor Ponta's daughter arrived in the country on a FlyDubai flight that landed at Otopeni airport around 8.45am.
Criminal complaints submitted to DNA
In parallel, a lawyer and the party led by Cristian Popescu Piedone submitted notifications to the DNA regarding the way in which the repatriation of the teenager was managed.
Lawyer Tudor Dobrescu filed a complaint on Friday against the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Țoiu, and the Consul General of Romania in Dubai, Viorel Richard Badea, accused of abuse of office and leaving a person in difficulty without help, according to the document published by Gândul.
Also on Friday, the Nationalist Party for the Reformation of Romania (PNRR), led by Cristian Popescu Piedone, announced that it had submitted a criminal complaint to the DNA against the Foreign Minister.
“During a repatriation operation organized for the return to Romania of some minors in Dubai, a 17-year-old Romanian teenage girl was denied access to the bus that was transporting the children to the airport. In Romanian, she said: the child was left behind. The Romanian state has a clear obligation: it protects its citizens wherever they are,” Piedone wrote in a post on Facebook.
Victor Ponta's ex-wife announced on Thursday evening, on Antena 3 CNN, that she will file a criminal complaint against Oana Ţoiu, whom she accuses of having blocked the repatriation of her daughter.
MAE: The teenager's name did not appear in the consular system
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andrei Țărnea, stated on Friday, in a press conference, that the daughter of Victor Ponta and Daciana Sârbu does not appear in the consular records nor in the system managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for crisis situations.
“The lady you are talking about does not appear in the consular records, so she does not appear in the system managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the management of these crisis situations. The name of the lady or the citizen you refer to does not appear in the system and therefore, not appearing in the system, she could not be on any list”, said the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, quoted by stirileprotv.ro.
He also said that “nobody was kicked off any bus or removed from any list”.
“There are thousands and hundreds of other children who stayed there. No minor was left. In no consulate of Romania, anywhere in the world, under normal conditions or under special circumstances, no minor is left there or alone. Not a single minor. Your statement is factually erroneous,” Tărnea added.
“I don't know what statements you are referring to. I told you that no Romanian citizen, no minor Romanian citizen was left alone (…) I am telling you what the official information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is based on all the documents that we have available. The most important document in this regard is the e-consulate. In the e-consulate, there is no entry on any date, on any of the days of this crisis, that refers to this person”, added Andrei It was raining.
The family's accusations
Victor Ponta stated that Oana Țoiu made the decision and asked the consul from Dubai that his 17-year-old daughter should not be on the list of passengers on the repatriation plane assisted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement for Cotidianul.
“Yes, Mrs. Țoiu took my minor daughter, Irina, off the plane that was bringing Romanians. Irina was not on vacation, but at New York University in Abu Dhabi. She personally called the consul in Dubai not to let her get on the plane to Bucharest, even though she is a minor and she is alone there. She screamed at the consul that the girl is a “vulnerability” and that he forbids her to get on the plane! Now she is alone in Dubai and we are looking to find a seat on a flight for her to come to Europe,” said Ponta.
Also, Daciana Sârbu told Antena3.ro that her daughter was taken off the bus that was taking passengers from Dubai to Oman, where the flight was to take off, and that she was told that she was “a vulnerability” because of the name she bears.
