The attacked places included the IRCG command in Beirut, responsible for aviation, and three Hezbollah commands. In the previous days, attacks were reported, among others: in southern Lebanon, where Israel also launched a ground offensive.
Israel and the United States have been attacking Iran since February 28. The armed forces said on Friday that since the beginning of the war, the Israeli air force has conducted 2,500 sorties and dropped more than 6,500 missiles on Iran in 150 waves of airstrikes.
The Israeli army has also been conducting an offensive against Iran-backed Hezbollah since Monday. The Shiite group until recently controlled southern Lebanon and has fought several wars with Israel. Hezbollah, which once had considerable military potential, was seriously weakened in the last one in 2024.
Hezbollah is an element of the so-called axis of resistance – a network of Iranian-backed armed organizations that are united by hostility towards the US and Israel.
