Poly Iasi announced, this evening, through social networks, that he dismissed coach Tony Da SIlva. However, the coach refuses to break the contract until he is paid around 25,000 euros! The people of Iași told the Lusitanian not to show up for training anymore.

The training sessions will be led from tomorrow by Tibor Selymes, who has accepted the interim position. To Tony, the club suggested: “Don't show up for training anymore!”.

The press release by which Poli Iași announces the dismissal of Tony da Silva: “We thank him for the work done”. But the Lusitanian does not leave!

“The contract between Politehnica Iași and coach Tony da Silva has ended, amicably. We thank him for his work and wish him much success!”, it was the short story of those from Poli Iași, published this evening.

However, authorized sources from the Iesian club ensure that the Portuguese is still under contract with Poli! The breakup with Tony will only happen when he receives the money he asked to sign the amicable termination, money that Poli does not have at the moment: approximately 25,000 euros!

The Polytechnic entered a financial deadlock as a result of the fact that the Iași City Hall did not allocate about 1.17 million euros for almost two months, the second installment of the 1.8 million euros approved to the club by the Iași City Council in the summer.

Thus, the players and coaches from Iași now have salary arrears for two months. Following the discussions held with the mayor of Iași, Mihai Chirica, the footballers were promised that the situation would be unblocked by the time of the match in the 14th stage, against Chindia Târgoviște, which will take place on November 25. If the City Hall money is diverted, Tony's contract will be terminated and a new coach will be installed.

Results below expectations for Poli Iași in this start of the season

Politehnica Iași has fared below expectations this season. Having, according to Transfermarkt, the second most valuable team in League 2, after Sepsi Sfântu Gheorghe, Poli obtained only 21 points in 13 matches, seven of them in Copou. The Moldovans have 0 in the ranking of truth and goal difference, and are only on the 10th place of the ranking of the second echelon. Furthermore, Poli's quality of play has suffered greatly in most matches. However, taking into account the fact that the distance to the 2nd place, occupied by ASA Târgu Mureș, is only five points, Iașul still hopes for promotion.

Craiova University “stole” Toni Petrea, the coach on his way to Iași

GSP announced on Tuesday that Toni Petrea was the main favorite to take over the formation from Iasi, but following the untimely departure of Mirel Rădoi from Craiova University, the club from Bănie called Filipe Coelho “main” and convinced Toni Petrea to come second.

An official statement was not issued by Olteni, but the boss Mihai Rotaru confirmed today in an intervention that Petrea will join the team.

“He is a model coach, who has every chance to succeed. That's why we brought Romanians to the staff, to help him. I think Toni Petrea will be a plus for us. That was the idea.

I never met Toni Petrea, but we thought about who could be a good helper for Filipe. It was about going to Iasi to replace Tony Da Silva. We thought of Tony Da Silva and then we said: “Why not Toni Petrea?” (no laughs)”, transmitted Mihai Rotaru.
