During Thursday's consultations, Rubio informed Arab ministers that military operations against Iran would continue for the next several weeks. This information was reported by Axios, citing its sources. The head of US diplomacy explained that military operations are currently focused on destroying Iranian missile launchers, missile stocks and their factories.

What are the Trump administration's goals in Iran?
Can military operations be extended?
Rubio noted in his talks with ministers that President Donald Trump's administration is not seeking regime change in Iran as the goal of a military operation. At the same time, the Secretary of State emphasized that Washington wants the country to be led by a different leadership.
The US is not talking to the Iranian authorities
Rubio informed his interlocutors that the United States is not currently engaged in any talks with the Iranian authorities. The Secretary of State explained that the dialogue could jeopardize the implementation of current military goals adopted by the Trump administration.
A day before his meeting with the ministers of Arab countries, the US president stated that the Iranian authorities had asked to start negotiations. However, Donald Trump stated that the time for such talks had passed.
Request for intelligence support
On Wednesday, Politico revealed that the US Central Command requested the Pentagon for additional intelligence support for operations against Iran. The support is to last for at least 100 days, although its extension even until September is not ruled out. Trump himself previously announced that military operations could last 4 to 5 weeks or longer.
