A small change coin with this name was used in the past on Ukrainian territory, including in monetary circulation in 1917-1921, notes the country’s National Bank.
The revival of the name “step” will “return Ukrainian coins to their own identity” and will be “the restoration of historical justice,” the regulator believes. He has already prepared the necessary amendments to the legislation to issue a new coin.
