In Krasnoyarsk, a courier embezzled 5 thousand rubles found in an entrance and ended up under criminal investigation. This was reported in the press service of the regional police.

In November 2025, law enforcement officers received a statement from a resident of a house on Dudinskaya Street. The woman told police that her 15-year-old daughter went to the store with a $5,000 bill and lost the money. The schoolgirl claimed that she could have dropped the bill in the entrance when she took her phone out of her pocket. However, the concierge reported that she did not notice the loss and none of the residents found the money.

After viewing recordings from surveillance cameras, law enforcement officers found out that a delivery service courier, who was just entering the entrance to meet the girl and picking up something from the floor, may be involved in the theft.

“The police department officers identified the man; he turned out to be a Krasnoyarsk resident born in 2001 who had previously been prosecuted. Investigators found out that the attacker saw the bill on the floor, but did not give it to the concierge, but decided to keep it for himself,” the police said.

A criminal case was opened against the courier under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft”. Now the young man faces up to 5 years in prison.

The investigation has been completed and the attacker will soon appear in court. Let us note that during the investigation the damage caused to Krasnoyarsk was compensated.
