PK MIL SA was established in October last year and is currently finalizing the formalities necessary to start production in Poland. As Jacek Zygmunt, advisor to the management board of Ponar Wadowice, explains: this process takes time, especially in the defense sector.
A battle-tested product
Bogdan's gun howitzer, as “Puls Biznesu” points out, was designed in Ukraine as a response to the need to modernize artillery systems compliant with NATO standards. Production of this equipment has accelerated following the Russian invasion in 2022.

Production in Poland opens up the possibility of exporting to other countries, which is not possible in the case of equipment manufactured in Ukraine. Ponar Wadowice, with experience in the production of defense components, such as hydraulic systems for Krab howitzers and Borsuk infantry fighting vehicles, is to produce key parts for Bogdan.
Opportunity for the domestic and foreign market
PK MIL SA counts on selling gun howitzers to both the Polish army and foreign customers. Poland currently has post-Soviet 152 mm Dana howitzers, which were to be replaced with more modern systems as part of the Kryl program. However, the Kryla project has been suspended, which may open the way for Bogdana.
— Bogdana is the perfect candidate for the successor of this equipment. It is much cheaper than competing systems, and at the same time meets NATO requirements, notes Jacek Zygmunt.
Thanks to optimized production costs and the experience of Ukrainian partners, the company plans to offer a competitive price, which may be a key argument when choosing the system by potential buyers.
