“This is the result of long-term cooperation with international partners,” emphasized Rasem Chebil, head of the Malmoe police investigation department, quoted in the statement.
The Swedish police present in Poland, as well as Europol and Eurojust – EU agencies for police cooperation and justice – were involved in catching the gangster.
According to the local newspaper “Sydsvenskan”, the man is suspected of, among others, of running an amphetamine factory in Kaevlinge in southern Sweden, as well as participating in the murder of the leader of a rival gang.
The Swedish prosecutor's office issued a European Arrest Warrant for the man. The Polish court will comment on its issuance.
