Iran closes the Strait of Hormuz. Warns ships of attacks

The steady flow of oil from the Persian Gulf to Europe, the United States and Asia through the strait's shipping lanes has made it the world's largest oil transit bottleneck.
Ebrahim Jabari, a senior adviser to the commander of the National Guard, said the Strait of Hormuz is closed and Iran will set fire to any ship trying to pass through it, Iranian media reports, Reuters writes.
“The Strait (of Hormuz) is closed. If anyone tries to sail through it, the heroes of the Revolutionary Guard and the regular navy will set fire to these ships,” Jabari said in a statement carried by state media, quoted by Reuters.
