The Jagiellonian University was in the 395th place in The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR). Behind him is the University of Warsaw – in the 427th position, further position – 627 was taken by the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow. The leaders were dominated by the Americans, with Harvard University at the forefront.

In the top ten there were eight universities from the United States. Their high position does not change from the beginning of the listing – i.e. from 2012.

Podium places were taken by: Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University. In the fourth and fifth place there were two British universities: the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford. The following places were: Princeton University, University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, Yale University and the University of Chicago. The top was almost identical in the previous several editions of the ranking.

In the second ten – apart from universities from the United States – came – the Japanese University of Tokyo and French Université de Recherche Paris Sciences et Lettres. The British University College London closes twenty.

Cwur analyzes data on 21 thousand. universities from around the world, 2,000 include the ranking. the best. 40 Polish universities and research institutes qualified for this rate.

Among them the highest – 395th place – took the Jagiellonian University. A little further, in the 427th place, the University of Warsaw came. The AGH University of Science and Humanities from Krakow came in 627, the Warsaw University of Technology took 754 place, and the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences – 775 place. The University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań, and the National Center for Nuclear Research is 869. In the first thousand, in 937 place, the University of Wrocław was also found.

Among the medical universities, the Medical University of Wrocław was assessed the highest – 895 place. Another Polish medical university, Warsaw Medical University – took 916 place.

Center for World University (CWUR) is the only global universities ranking that is based on data collected independently by the center. Most of the world rankings are based on surveys and data sent by universities – it was emphasized in the press release of the Medical University of Warsaw, in which the university informed about its result.

The ranking of CWUR universities is created on the basis of eight criteria: successes of graduates and teaching staff in international competitions, employing graduates at directory positions in global companies, publications in valued scientific magazines and the most influential periodicals, citability, Hirsch index of the entire university and the number of international patents.

The ranking was created in Saudi Arabia, and from 2016 the headquarters of the Center for World University Rankings is located in the United Arab Emirates. (PAP)
