“The students from Vrancea are on a private trip, they left with the consent of their parents, because last week there was a holiday in Vrancea, there are 27 children from Vrancea and another from another county”said general school inspector Livia Marcu for News.ro.

According to her, the trip was organized during the vacation, and the decision regarding the children's travel to the United Arab Emirates belonged exclusively to the parents.

All I know is that they were going to return to the country on Saturday, but they couldn't do that because the flights were cancelled.”explained the chief inspector of ISJ Vrancea.

Since Monday, the students should have returned to classes, so the teachers from the educational units have to make up for their absences, and the parents will have to take the steps to motivate them.

“Considering their situation, they receive absences, of course the parents will take the necessary steps to motivate them for these absences”Livia Marcu also specified.

ISJ representatives emphasize that the institution has no involvement in the organization or management of this trip.

As long as the agreement of the ISJ was not necessary, we are not involved in any way”said the chief inspector.

According to the information received from the ISJ management, the students are safe.

I have information that they are fine, healthy and will return to the country”Livia Marcu transmitted.

The group left accompanied by the coordinator of the Cambridge center as organizer and an English teacher from a secondary school in Focşani, who was on the trip with her own child.

On Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that, in addition to the 28 students, approximately 1,000 Romanians were stranded in Dubai. The institution also reported that there are no wounded Romanians in the Middle East.

,,Diplomatic missions and consular offices of Romania are in contact with approximately 1,000 Romanian citizens, with consular assistance being prioritized for minors and families with children. No repatriation requests from Iran are registered“, the authorities sent. So far, no evacuation plan has been made public, nor has information been sent about how they will be able to return to the country.

Regional tensions have affected dozens of flights to and from the Middle East, and passengers have experienced moments of uncertainty. On Sunday, 36 flights from Otopeni Airport were cancelled, and on Saturday some aircraft that had taken off were redirected or even returned to Romania.

We recall that Israel and the United States attacked several targets in Iran on Saturday, February 28, targeting military infrastructure and key leaders, which led to a rapid escalation of hostilities and Iranian retaliation with missiles and drones in the region.
