“We generally understood that they were using Starlink technology, but in such quantities – it was a surprise for us,” Beskrestnov said. According to him, now the Russians do not have any channels for troop control. This applies to FPV pilots, electronic warfare units, radio reconnaissance, and other areas. The Russians are trying to quickly find other solutions, but it is very difficult, he noted.

Beskrestnov noted that this is “hard work” for SpaceX, which is introducing such restrictions for the first time in the world.
We have now stopped the enemy’s attempts to attack us with UAVs with Starlink,” added the minister’s adviser. He recalled that recently the Russians had already begun to use Starlink on small UAVs like Molniya or BM-35, and the use of Shahed with these terminals was only a matter of time. “And this was a very big danger for us, and therefore we decided on these very critical actions on our part,” he said.
